RS Autosport June 2026 Newsletter

Precision Through Every Season

As the temperatures drop and winter settles in, it’s the perfect time to give your Porsche a little extra attention. While colder weather can reveal hidden issues, it also presents an opportunity to ensure your vehicle continues to perform with the precision, reliability, and driving enjoyment Porsche is known for.

In this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing some winter care insights every Porsche owner should know, introducing an exciting new service designed to protect your vehicle’s finish, and exploring the fascinating motorsport history behind one of Porsche’s most distinctive design features.

Whether you’re preparing for your next road trip or simply enjoying the drive to work, we’re here to help keep your Porsche performing exactly as it should.

Winter Reveals What Summer Hides In Your Porsche

Most Porsche owners think winter is harder for the driver than the car. In reality, colder temperatures often expose issues that may have gone unnoticed during the warmer months.

Battery performance naturally drops as temperatures fall, making winter one of the most common times for starting issues to appear. Tyre pressures also decrease in colder weather, affecting handling, grip, and overall driving confidence. Even small cooling system weaknesses can become more noticeable as temperature fluctuations place additional stress on components.

The good news? Winter can act as an early warning system. Catching small issues now often prevents larger and more costly repairs later.

A Porsche is engineered for precision every season, but maintaining that precision requires regular inspections and specialist care. A proactive winter check can help ensure your vehicle continues to perform exactly as Porsche intended, regardless of the temperature outside.

New Service Alert

A Porsche is designed to turn heads. Keeping it looking its best requires more than regular washing and polishing.

We’re pleased to introduce our new Ceramic Coating service, designed to provide long-lasting protection while enhancing the deep gloss and finish of your vehicle’s paintwork. The advanced coating creates a protective barrier against UV exposure, dirt, water spots, and everyday environmental contaminants, helping your Porsche maintain its showroom appearance for longer.

The result is a vehicle that not only looks exceptional but is also easier to clean and maintain, giving you more time to enjoy the drive and less time worrying about the elements.

Whether you’re preserving a daily driver or protecting a prized weekend car, ceramic coating is an investment in your Porsche’s appearance and long-term value.

Porsche Story of the Month

If you’ve ever driven a Porsche, you may have noticed something unusual: the ignition isn’t on the right side of the steering wheel like most cars. Instead, it’s on the left.

This wasn’t a design quirk; it was born from motorsport.

During the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race, drivers once had to sprint across the track to their cars at the start of the race. Porsche engineers realised that placing the ignition on the left allowed drivers to start the engine with their left hand while engaging first gear with their right, saving valuable seconds.

The advantage may have been small, but in racing, every second counts.

Today, even though race starts have changed, Porsche has retained the left-side ignition as a tribute to its motorsport heritage. It’s one of those subtle details that connects every road-going Porsche to the brand’s racing DNA.

Sometimes the smallest features tell the biggest stories.
